So recently I had to arrange a meeting midway between Bournemouth and Portsmouth, going to places you’ve never been before and have found online are always a gamble. I have to admit driving there I was a little nervous.
They Say:
The Cromwell Arms is a cosy country pub with rooms, perched at the edge of the picturesque market town of Romsey.
I Say:
A perfect cosy country pub with a hotel placed on the side. The building itself is rather sprawling but as you walk into the pub it is immediately warm and welcoming with a cosy atmosphere. The service was attentive and good, though they were running low on some dishes which was a little disappointing for 19:30 sitting. The food was good I had a mushroom and spinach lasagne and the mushrooms were a wonderful variety of funghi. The dessert was an alcohol infused sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel icecream, delicious, moreish and just enough for two.
Would I drive there again just for a meal? It was good but not that good however if your nearby in passing you won’t be disappointed.
