Grenade Carb Killa Banana Armour – Protein Bar

Finally a non chocolate flavoured protein bar!, okay well that’s not entirely true as there is chocolate in this but it is also banana flavour Grenade Carb Killa Banana Armour – Protein Bar £29.88 for 12

They Say:

  • Delicious high protein bar with a banana flavoured centre, caramel layer & crunchy biscuit base
  • Low sugar (2g per bar) and high protein (22g per bar)
  • Loaded with tons of fibre – and flavour!

Triple layered and deliciously crunchy, you’ll go bananas for Grenade Carb Killa Banana Armour Protein Bar! Great as a high protein low carb treat mid-morning, post-workout, or as a treat, this seriously tasty banana flavoured protein bar is made using a special baking process for a softer, crunchier texture.

Each Carb Killa protein bar is made up from delicious triple layers, and filled with crunchy ‘crispies’ all coated in milk chocolate. With low sugar & low impact carbs, this banana & chocolate bar really is the perfect high-protein snack.

I Say:

Shop around if you are looking for these as you can get them for around £19 elsewhere. The bar itself is 60g which is around the same size as most other protein bars.

As with all bars the chewy protein bar texture is there, however it broken up slightly with the addition of crispies giving it a bit of extra crunch. The banana flavour is definitely there (kind of a banana Nesquick taste) which does make a really welcome change to other bars on the market with limited flavour choices. All this with only 217 Calories.

The downside? the packaging! Being a female I really don’t like the manly military look of the box and the wrapper. I know most protein products and marketed for men but it seems a shame as it would put women off. Other brands just have a scientific or minimal approach like ‘My Protein’  which is a lot easier to get out and eat in front of others. Would it stop me completely? no might it stop others? yes… A shame really as it is a good and tasty product.
