I have to be honest the words ‘ultra rich’ caught me on this one (thanks marketing guys!). Our bodies all get a little battered during those winter months, skin gets dry and cracked or spotty and blotchy and when i came across this well the name kind of says it all.

L’OCCITANE offers high quality beauty products and fragrances, developed following the principles of phytotherapy and aromatherapy. Our textures and fragrances are inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle: using a L’OCCITANE product is always a moment of well-being and sensory delight.
We follow a strict formulation charter to guarantee the best quality, the best efficiency, and an optimal pleasure of use, while respecting people and environment. We strive to use high-quality, traceable, natural ingredients. We use over 200 botanical ingredients, a quarter of them organic certified, which are carefully selected for their effectiveness and their ability to give your skin the elements it needs to be beautiful. These ingredients are used at an ideal concentration in our formulas. We therefore systematically give priority to natural ingredients whenever possible. For example, we use vegetable oils in place of oils derived from petrochemicals, as they have a better affinity with the skin. However to ensure that our products offer optimum safety and effectiveness, we may use synthetic molecules when no reliable and effective natural alternative exists, while always erring on the side of caution.
I found this product if I am honest rather bland and non descript. It was nice to use yes. The smell as okay, not too strong or overpowering but was it memorable? no, was the experience a little papering escape from life? no. In fact it is quite a hard product to write about. It was not an unpleasnat experience in any way but was it positive? not really. Okay I know a shower cream isn’t going to change your life but this just lacked well substance.
I was also surprised to see that only a quarter of the botanicals are organic certified considering the marketing slant they put on their products. It is good to see a company putting honest information on their website though.
For the price tag would I use it again? No. I would looking for another lower priced brand and ensure I moisturised after if I am honest. Sorry L’Occitane. substandard for the price tag for me.
