So Bar and Eats – Harrogate

So every year I go away for a conference up in Harrogate, usually with colleagues and ex colleagues from a previous job. This year we headed up on a Friday and were looking for somewhere to go for a few drinks and ended up here.

They Say:

Welcome to So! Bar & Eats in Harrogate.  We are an award winning, independently run bar & restaurant, offering a range of high quality freshly prepared food to meet every occasion, in a contemporary bar environment

At so we are proud to offer the most comprehensive and intriguing selection of drinks in the local area.  We have drinks to suit every mood from Cask ales to an extensive wine list, to great coffees… we have it all.

We love wine and have developed a great list of wines to share with you. Some are easy-drinking classics; others are a little more challenging, bold and distinctive. The one thing they all have in common is that they’re all delicious.

Our wine list complements our excellent food, menus and offers enough variety to match your mood. We offer a lot of our wines by the glass and you can sample any wine by the glass on the list – you just have to ask.

We offer a seasonal drinks menu with great cocktails, long drinks, wine offers and even homemade drinks. Where else can you find Leffe from Belgium on draught, alongside local roosters cask ale and uber cool Peroni? We have an evolving

showcase of beers and the best of local and national cask ales as well as pilsner lagers and German beers all served in branded glassware for that perfect serve.

I Say:

A wonderfully modern cosy and fashionable bar, with good decor and atmosphere and very friendly staff. We were out for drinks rather than food, but the food we saw coming out looked delicious.

Most intriguingly of all was the Gin Passport. Four G&T’s for £20, served in wonderful glasses with fevertree tonic. Each Gin comes from their selected Gin menu and is served with relevant accompaniments, eg, raspberries, juniper berries line or even thyme which they felt complimented the Gin.

Whilst I was there I sampled a merry 4 varieties of: Slingsby Rhubarb, Twisted Nose, Wicked Wolf and Half Hitch. Simply delicious.

You could easily while away the hours here with good friends so if you in the area, past it a visit!
