- processed sugar free
- Wheat/gluten free
Talk about a challenge! So as part of it I am on the looking out for delicious snack to keep me going throughout the day. As we know a lot of these recipes look great on the internet but when we try to make them, well the just taste awful! so on here are my tried and taste tested Life Goddess approved recipes
This one is from Deliciously Ella, and is on her blog – you can find the full recipe here
Why are they so good? not only do they taste yummy but they contain chia seeds. These little beauties are amazing things
Their inflammation-fighting effects can help reduce your risk of metabolic syndrome, type II diabetes, cancer, and autoimmune disorders such as arthritis. Omega-3s are also associated with improved cognition and neurologic function.
Another benefit: Chia seeds are rich in antioxidants, which are important for immune function and protection of our body’s cells from damage.
Chia are also a solid source of calcium, iron, and zinc (another important immune-booster). And they provides magnesium, phosphorous, and potassium — all important minerals that are strongly associated with fighting hypertension and bone-mineral density.
Chia seeds are composed of about 15-25% protein, which translates to about 5 grams for a 2 tablespoon serving. All you have to do is add chia seeds to whatever you’re cooking or preparing. They’re also an excellent source of fiber, which is great on its own for keeping us fuller longer. Even better: The combination of protein and fiber makes for a “perfect” meal or snack when it comes to making you satisfied and preventing that blood sugar “spike” (and subsequent crash) that you get from snacks that are not as nutrient-dense.
All this from a cookie! Personally I think it would be rude not to!
