So I like getting away, its nice to run away and escape it all especially after the Christmas Madness, so when a friend suggested renting a cottage in Salcombe for a few days, well it just seemed perfect. Cue sale shopping and down the little quaint streets and obviously doing what girls do best, having lunch
A new (opened in 2013) little addition to the beautiful Fore Street in Salcombe. It is actually the converted building which used to be the bank. Lovely design and the atmosphere, with young charming enthusiastic staff. Eclectic fittings including the old bank counter make for a great coffee stop. The have a great selection of handmade healthy smoothies (try the Mr Cool) and though the open sandwiches seem pricey (£7.95) the quantity and quality were good and worth the cost. As it was December things were pretty quiet so the service was good, however I can imagine during the busy summer months there are likely to be delays on the food. I got the feeling the standard of service and possibly even the food quality goes up in winter for the ‘locals’.
Only downside no real views at all, which is a shame considering the location – but a must for a drink or refreshments when you are visiting fantastic Salcombe.
