So another week another date…. Well a girl has to shop around right?
Our London Choccywoccydoodah is in the heart of Soho just off Carnaby Street. You will find us at 30-32 Fouberts Place, Carnaby, London W1F 7PS. Eccentric, decadent and iconic, in fact everything you would expect of us, including a splendid Chocolate Bar.
Quaint! the shop itself is small but stunning with towering cakes and massive sculptures. Beware if looking for a gift the chocolate is pricey, however not much more than Hotel Chocolat or some of the better Thorntons stuff. Upstairs to the right as you go in is the cafe.
As you can imagine there is often a queue for the cafe however it seemed to move pretty quickly (we got there at 3pm) and soon we were settled at a cute iron table with a chair and me getting the plush red velvet boudoir sofa! The look is rockabillily meets, moulin rouge with a bit of the mad hatters tea party thown in for good effort. If you are tall look out for low lampshades!
The menus was great and the service was good, however they were out of the run and raisin cake that I was after. The price were pretty reasonable and the portions were huge!! I made the mistake of having a hot chocolate and a cappucino cake so really I think I managed a third of the cake and regretted not having something cool and non chocolate to drink! Also for info the milkshakes are massive too!
A great cute place to catch up on a girlie day out or an on unsual date, I will say however the decorations look a little on the tired side but the overall atmosphere was adorable and the service very friendly and good, my advice get the window seat so you can people watch and don’t eat before hand…
Oh and if anyone trys the peanut butter milkshake, please let me know what it tastes like!
Cute unsual and quaint but not for the faint hearted, or for manly men!
Right now who’s up for a 10 mile run to burn a teeny part of that cake off? perhaps after a lie down…..
