Well, as a girl about town.. sometimes we need to make a change… for me this time a big one. I’ve moved from Plymouth to Hertfordshire on the outskirts of London (20 mins by train)
So whats the first thing a girl needs to do? Celebrate with cocktails!
As recommended by a friend I headed off with him to Canary Wharf more specifically 4th Floor Canada Place to Plateau
With dramatic views over the glass and steel of Canary Wharf, Plateau Restaurant is a discrete haven amid the bustle of the big city by day; at night, the lights dim to offer a more intimate experience.
The restaurant adjoins a central, theatre-style kitchen where guests can catch glimpses of Head Chef Allan Pickett and his brigade hard at work.
Iconic furniture, from Eero Saarinen’s Tulip table and chairs to Castiglioni-style Arco floor lamps, gives Plateau restaurant its uber-cool feel, while diners – local office workers and foodies alike – create a palpable buzz.
Simply Stunning! Great welcoming service, they take your jackets etc and then to the lounge area for (reasonably priced) cocktails, it seems to be pretty busy for after work drinks as you can imagine but the Bar & Grill is a great area to eat (and you can reserve a table online)
Foodwise there is a standard A’ la Carte which is again reasonably priced and then the set menu 2 courses for £15 or 3 for £18, due to the location and the views this is such a bargain! The food was wonderful, the chefs very willing to make alterations to suit your dietary needs.
The downside is that the service on the cocktails wasn’t very quick however when they came the looked lovely. and having the sun go down and the lights come on in canary wharf whilst having a great dinner at a great price, well I cannot recommend Plateau any more than this!!!
