Soltan for when you have no tan!

Okay, so you may have noticed… we seem to have skipped summer! and better than that, we have plenty of rain to make up for it! Lovely, as you can imagine or empathise girls its gets a little depressing being  all year round! I’m all for sun protection however I also like to have a healthy glow!

I recently picked up Soltan Beautiful Bronze Self Tan Gel 125ml

RRP £8.99 – but currently 1/3 off at Boots so only £5.99

They Say:

Giving a natural even colour, this luxurious formula dries instantly and fades evenly. It has tinted colour for instantly luminous skin.

This freshly moisturising formula provides an instant golden glow that develops into a natural-looking colour within 2-3 hours.

Contains a blend of self-tanning agents DHA and Erythrulose to provide a streak-free, golden tan with a light, long-lasting summer scent.

How to Use

  • Apply gel evenly, using sparingly on elbows, knees, feet and hands
  • For a deeper colour wait 2-3 hours and reapply
  • For best results apply with Soltan Beautiful Bronze Self-Tan Mitt
  • Wait until dry before dressing
  • Wash hands immediately after use
  • Avoid contact with hair, eyes and fabric
  • Colour will be waterproof and sweat proof after 2 hours
  • This product will not protect you from the sun. Always use a high SPF product to protect your skin during sun exposure

I Say:

A remarkably decent product! especially for the price. I’ve spent more on expensive brands which definitely don’t match up to this. The bottle itself also lasts around 4-5 applications which is I think good value for the money.

One big drawback…..nowhere on the website or the bottle does it mention to say it contains a hell of a lot of GLITTER?! so ladies please be forwarned about this. Do it the night before, unless you want to go out that day glittering like a vampire extra from Twilight!!!

At least the glitter washes off easily in the shower. The smell is altogether pleasant, not too biscuity at all. It does dry pretty quickly and spreads on well with a self tan mitt without drying into little flakes on the skin. It has a good guide colour and the result is a very healthy glow remarkably with out a hint of orange! It tends to fade after about 3 days and although my legs were a little streaky (I think that was more me that the product) the colour on my arms and back came out lovely. I have quite olive skin though and tan well, so I’m not sure if this product would be too dark for really fair skin (it only comes in one shade)

Overall I think its a great product for the price, and well worth the money for a rainy summer pick me up!
